so long macbook unibody…

For me, when Apple releasing the new line of their portable computer, refreshing the macbook pro and macbook line as well macbook air, it’s quiet surprising me  Why? well am no fans of Apple for a long periods, but as what I learn for about this 2 years, this is drastic move… Kicking the macbook brand to macbook white only -yeah, that well know Macbook White made of polycarbonate-, adding -if not rebranding :p- the macbook unibody to the macbook pro line as the ‘new’ MACBOOK PRO 13″ slashing down macbook air price, renew the macbook pro 15″.

Something very unusual for me, what I think is, Apple need to sell something much more affordable, cheaper, getting a new customer, because -yeah, we all know- that global economic crisis must be affected Apple :p Microsoft will sell the new Windows 7 as a BRAND NEW OS. And a lot of customer may think: “ah, apple stuff is expensive, windows based pc is more cheaper :p”. CHEAPER IS THE KEYWORD. If Apple keep selling that “pricey” macbook, new customer will not accept it, because -even for me as user of mb unibody- it’s still expensive. Examples: Macbook Unibody got no that “fancy techie” things like: blu ray drive, hi res display with a lot of name as the brand maker name it :p,  super bright webcam -isight is good u know-, bla2.. they only sell: made of aluminum, MAC OS X bla2… Something not techie hehehe…

So Apple refreshing their new line, make that macbook unibody to be the only macbook made of aluminum . And says, We will sell SNOW LEOPARD cheaper for Leopard User before Something what i called as: redefining a new way of slashing down price :p.

For me, is it hurts me that macbook unibody drastically change to macbook pro 13″? For me, NO. why? no something new hehe.. such as;

• they put that -super long waited- SD CARD SLOT -just SD, no multi memory card support-
• backlighted keyboard for all variants -nah, this hurts me -
• firewire 800 -hey this is Apple right? Firewire is a must-
• a tag MACBOOK PRO -poor mbp 15″ and 17″ user, no more ‘Pro’ pride :p -
• more powerful battery, but no removable battery, but the lifecycle is better – this one hurts me – yeah this one is really cool, a breaktrough of how Apple make other makers got a headache. Powerfull battery life, larger battery life, 1000 recharges time without adding size, weight just make it permanent as long as notebook lifetime. No more buying a new battery! and greener!! GO GREEN! :p
• faster processor, bigger hard drive.

And still no that BluRay Drive, Express Card Slot, WWAN :p
